Urban Decay B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray Review

Mac’s Fix+ on steroids.

I love Urban Decay make-up setting sprays. I use them every single day: all nighter to set up my under-eye concealer and de-slick to set up my make-up. So when I heard about this new prep spray infused with vitamin B6 and antioxidants, I was very excited. It also had amazing reviews on makeupalley.com.

The spray absorbs oil, minimizes pores, and reduces redness. It hydrates and softens the skin and prepares it for make-up. As always with Urban Decay, there are no parabens, sulphates and phthalates. I have been using it as prep spay but apparently you can also use it to refresh your makeup during the day, as you would with Fix+.

Immediate results: I got it about two weeks ago and have been using it every day. So far, I’m not wowed. Personally, I don’t see the difference. It’s a nice product but it’s doesn’t give the same kind of effects as de-slick. Basically, it doesn’t make a difference to how my make-up holds throughout the day whether I use it or not. Or if it does it’s barely noticeable. It’s lightly scented, which is a bit of a change when compared with de-slick and all-nighter. It’s a nice scent and I quite like it. The packaging is lovely.

Long-term effects: it’s really hard to tell at this point. My skin has been looking quite good since I started using the product. It certainly doesn’t break me out and I think in the long-term it might make a difference.

Overall: I like this product and will definitely continue using it. It’s not a holy-grail product for me. While I don’t think I could live without de-slick, this product is just nice. It reminds me of Mac’s Fix+, just much better. I really like the idea of a prep spray and have often used de-slick underneath makeup to make it last longer. I like the fact that this spray hydrates the skin and has skin nourishing and anti-aging ingredients. Overall, it’s a good product, it’s just isn’t as amazing and groundbreaking as other Urban Decay sprays.

I really wanted to try this! Kind of a bummer that it’s not that great at keeping your makeup in place.

Are these sprays meant to take the place of a primer? I usually follow makeup trends pretty closely, but all of this prep/prime/etc is getting the best of me 🙂
I do have one of the old UD formula sprays, in a travel size, but it’s being hoarded for the rare occasions where I’m out on the town/somewhere important.

Yes, I think so. That’s how I use it. But then I don’t use a primer everyday cause I don’t have time. Plus my foundation stays on all day. But to be honest I’m not sure if it’s supposed to replace a primer.

    hey read this

^after that, i don’t think i will be repurchasing. especially because i am not noticing any results. at first, i thought it was working cause my skin felt fresh after i sprayed it and looked glowy, but in the long run, i see no reduction in the size of my pores, redness, or oil.

Yes, I agree. I don’t think I will repurchase either. I see no results. It doesn’t irritate me or anything but I see no difference.
However, as for the website – you do realise that you are reading a review by Urban Decay’s competitors’ right? That all their reviews surprisingly say that everyone else’s products suck while Paula’s Choice is the only good company. They are very biased and all reviews are sponsored. I try to look at independent reviews and most importantly read the list of ingredients myself! It’s not that hard to find out what are the ingredients on the list.
