I got Sephora’s brush no 23 (all over shadow small) for Christmas and I’ve been rather enjoying applying makeup with it. Although it’s called ‘all over shadow brush’ it’s more of a small crease brush. It’s perfect for getting into the small spaces of the eye: the corners and the creases.
The brush has a rounded, tapered tip. It’s fluffy and slightly flattened. The bristles are soft and dense. I use it to apply colour onto small areas of the eye such as the outer eyelid. As it’s quite small, it’s really easy to contour and define the eye with it. Below are some photos of no 23 and Sigma’s E40 tapered blending brush just to give you an idea of the size and shape.
I used this brush to create two versions of a green eyeshadow look. The first one is a day-time look with a bit of contouring. The second is the same look but more smoked-out. Sephora’s 23 brush is perfect for applying just the right amount of colour into the crease, as well as for creating more dramatic looks and bring eyeshadows out in the corners. I have been looking for a similar brush for quite a while.
The shadows I used for this are Miners’ eyeshadow trio in Goddess (MI3592). I got this in the December She Said Beauty subscription box. These eyeshadows aren’t very pigmented and the payoff isn’t that great but they have a nice shine to them and are good for everyday wear.
